Hot Olive Oil Dip
Starting a new series of easy holiday appetisers and sides! and this one’s perfect when you’re in a pinch. You’ve already got the ingredients, and the hot oil sizzle steals the show every time. 🥖💫
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2–3 cloves garlic, finely grated or minced
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried basil, oregano or cilantro
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
1. In a small heatproof bowl (stainless steel or ceramic), combine garlic, parmesan, parsley, dried herbs, red pepper flakes.
2. In a small saucepan, gently heat the olive oil over medium heat until it’s hot and shimmering, about 1–2 minutes. It shouldn’t smoke.
3. Carefully pour the hot olive oil over the herb mixture.
4. Stir it together and let it sit for a minute to let the flavors infuse.
5. Serve warm with crusty bread for dipping.
If bringing this to a party, you can mix the dry ingredients a head of time, and heat up the olive oil on the stove or microwave (30-45 seconds max in two intervals).
