I swear these are the easiest bread buns ever 🍂 You don’t need a mixer, just a bowl, the ingredients and your hands. You’ll get no stress, soft and goldenly perfect bread buns. If you’ve ever been scared to make bread, start here 🧈

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • A sprinkle of sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk 🥛
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened 🧈
  • 1 egg 🥚

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, mix the yeast, ¼ cup warm milk, and a sprinkle of sugar. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes, until foamy.

2. In a large bowl, combine the remaining 1 cup warm milk, sugar, flour, salt, butter, egg, and the activated yeast mixture. Stir with a spatula or fork until everything comes together. The dough should be soft and a little sticky (add 1 tablespoon more milk if it feels dry).

3. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

4. Lightly flour your surface and turn the dough out. Divide and shape into 6 to 10 round buns. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover again, and let rise for another 30–60 minutes.

5. Bake at 325°F for 20 minutes, or until golden and cooked through
